“Back to school time is a costly time of year and also a time of year when most of us establish our routine for the year ahead.  We want to encourage families to travel to school on Wexford Bus and are offering special reduced fares so that more school goers try the bus for themselves.  We have published our promotional school fares for September and October and also our school fares for the remainder of the year so parents have full visibility of the costs associated with taking the bus.” Explains Brendan Crowley, Managing Director, Wexford Bus. “We believe that as a community we need to move away from being so reliant on our cars and need to take the bus, cycle and walk more.  Using the bus from an early age is a good step towards this.  We hope that this initiative will encourage more families to make that step.”

To avail of these special fares school children must use a Child Leap Card.  Leap card issue two children’s leap cards for different age groups.  There is a Child Leap Card for children aged 4 to 15, children aged 16 to 18 must obtain a Personalised Child Leap Card with their name and photograph included.  To apply for either please see www.leapcard.ie.
